I know this law, Dan MC Coy was a supporter of this law and helped Gary get this though the Legislature as chairman.
Legislator Gary Domalewicz — the measure’s sponsor — said he would not ask his colleagues to try to override the veto. Instead, Domalewicz said he would push ahead with an amended version that addresses at least some of the industry’s concerns, a version he said he planned to introduce anyway.
“A veto is a moot point because I was fixing it anyway,” Domalewicz said. “We’ll have another public hearing, and any recommendations that we have then we can address at that time.”
This folks in this reporters opinion is the beginning of many battles Mc Coy will have with the Albany County Legislature . The other issue is MC coy's floating bids on the nursing home , which is in direct conflict of the Albany county legislature's plan for long term health care for Albany county.
If you privatize the nursing home and if it does not show a profit, they will lay off and fire many critical health are workers and most probably close it. Many are starting to say that Dan Mc coy is a one term county executive, now whether you like Dan Mc Coy or not,
we are all concerned about our seniors and disabled and a new or rehabbed nursing home is needed for our seniors and disabled .
